Facilitator’s Guide to Private Events & Creative Workshops

Welcome

Welcome to our studio. As workshop facilitators at Lulu by Design (located at 855 Wing Street in downtown Plymouth, Michigan), our mission is built around a singular philosophy: Aspire, Create, & Empower.

Whether you are organizing a private celebration or dropping in for an open maker session, this guide outlines everything you need to know about our workshop structure, materials, event planning, and studio policies.

2. The Making Process: How Our Workshops Work

You do not need prior metalsmithing or crafting experience. Our studio operates on an accessible, step-by-step facilitation framework:

  • Inspiration & Material Selection: Browse our curated trays of sterling silver components, natural gemstones, mixed metals, and upcycled vintage elements.
  • Design Blueprinting: Arrange your layout on velvet bead boards to test balance, color theory, and focal points before securing components.
  • Technique & Assembly: Under facilitator guidance, use professional hand tools (round-nose pliers, wire cutters, jump ring openers, crimping tools) to construct your piece.
  • Finishing & Polish: Learn secure clasp attachment, wire-wrapping locks, and professional finishing touches so your piece is durable and daily-wear ready.ints feature a variety of styles and subjects, from abstract to landscape. We use high-quality materials to ensure that our prints are long-lasting and vibrant.

3. Integrated Studio Pillars

While private events anchor our studio calendar, our daily space integrates three additional pillars:

  • Therapeutic & Empowerment Art: Creative making serves as a powerful outlet for mindfulness, stress relief, and self-expression.
  • Upcycled & Ethical Design: We incorporate preloved, reclaimed materials and vintage components into modern designs, promoting sustainable fashion.
  • Gallery & Ready-to-Wear Wares: In addition to workshops, our retail gallery features handcrafted jewelry, eccentric art, and unique gifts.
